About The Ark Specialist College

The Ark Specialist College was founded by a Chartered and Registered Psychologist with more than 20 years of therapeutic experience, alongside experienced Care Directors with a combined 45 years of successfully operating Ofsted-registered children's homes.

About Us

The college was established in response to a recognised gap in high-quality specialist provision for young people with additional needs. Its leadership brings extensive experience in safeguarding, therapeutic intervention, person-centred support and transitional care, creating a strong foundation for a specialist educational environment.

This expertise has been carefully transferred into a college setting where learning is supported by a wider understanding of each individual's emotional, sensory, communication and developmental needs. Learners benefit from a joined-up, supportive environment designed to promote safety, stability, confidence and meaningful progress.

The Ark Specialist College also recognises the challenges families and individuals can face when searching for suitable post-16 provision. The college has been developed to provide a compassionate, knowledgeable and clinically informed approach that supports every learner in preparing for a fulfilling adult life.

Our Purpose

The core purpose of The Ark Specialist College is to support young people with learning difficulties, disabilities and autism to develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to live safer, fuller and more meaningful lives within their communities.
